About Dinard
Dinard is a commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department of Brittany in north western France. Dinard is on the Côte d'Émeraude of the Brittany coastline and is very popular with the local Bretons and holiday makers alike.
Dinard benefits from great sandy beaches - with its famous stripy beach tents, exhilarating coastal walks and in Dinard itself restaurants with tasty menus tempt the visitor in (don't forget to try moules- frites with some refreshing Breton Cider).
Some tourists choose to spend their evenings at the swish casino but for those not wanting to spend, the Promenade Clair de Lune offers a lovely waterside walk which is illuminated during the months of July and August and shows that the best things in life are often free!
Those wanting to cycle will find Dinard and the coastal paths perfect for a ride.
In the summer you can take a little passenger ferry from Dinard across to St Malo – a wonderful way to approach the old city walls of St Malo’s “intra muros”. From there, as well as visiting Saint Malo itself, you can take day cruises out around the islands or down the River Rance towards Dinan. |
