About Concarneau

Concarneau has many assets that make it a very popular summer resort. Visitors flock to the quaint ville close (walled town) but the lovely sandy beaches and a lively maritime festival in August are also worth seeing.

The ville close is without any doubt Concarneau’s most popular tourist attraction. This old stone fortified ‘town’ has just a few narrow streets filled with shops and restaurants. Walk across the bridge and you are immediately engulfed in history (often a pirate is there to welcome you!).

You may be lucky to visit on a day where you can hear musicians play traditional Breton music.

If spending the day (which is recommended) then why not take time to go to one of the many sandy beaches in the area.
